Liverpool in for Argentina's new Messi

Vietto, 18, has attracted European scouts this season

Liverpool are battling with Juventus for Argentinian starlet Luciano Vietto.

Racing Club Avellaneda midfielder Vietto, 18, has attracted European scouts this season and Liverpool scouts have been watching the £4m-rated youngster, according to The Mirror.

Kop boss Brendan Rodgers is desperate to shore up the ranks after a disastrous start to the season.

Liverpool are lying at the bottom just above QPR and Southampton while Swansea are sitting on top just behind Chelsea.

Rodgers, renowned for his attacking style at Swansea, promised to bring a 'tiki-taka' revolution at Anfield.

But his stock has nose-dived following an opening day humbling at West Brom. Despite lifting themselves only to squander the advantage against champions Manchester City, they were buried by the Gunners.

His decision to offload Andy Carroll backfired after failing to secure the signature of American striker Clint Dempsey.

If we are serious then sign him now - because Madrid etc will snap him up before we get a chance to blink.

I love rodgers. I love liverpul, i love d lads. Play suarez 4rm d wing. Play borini upfront, replace gerrard with shelvey, try johnson on the wings and play kelly at right back. keep reina on the bench or dash him out. Why nt try jones at d goal post. Rodgers 4 life. Liverpul 4 life. I think we r d best n we wil finish in d top four.

Stating Liverpool's league position after 3 games is misleading to the reader (so Swansea will finish 2nd this season will they?) Rodgers did not promise to bring a "Tiki-Taka" revolution to Anfield. Rodgers stock has not nose-dived (anyone who knows about football knows your stock doesn't drop after 3 results Liverpool were not "buried" by the Gunners. See Wales' result against Serbia last night, I believe that would be closer to a team being buried.
