Roberto Mancini is set to overtake Sir Alex Ferguson in the Premier League managers' wage table after agreeing to a lengthy new contract at Manchester City, according to the Daily Mail.
City are expected to announce the 47-year-old Italian's new deal in the coming week, it added.
Mancini is thought to be paid around £5 million a year at Eastlands, a similar figure to that of his Manchester United rival.
The new figure will take him closer to the £7.2m paid to English football's highest managerial earner, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, according to the report.
