Man Utd’s Nico Gaitan bid under City 'attack'

Benfica’s young star high on Sir Alex’s list

Manchester United and Manchester City are on a collision course – this time over buying a player.

According to media reports, Manchester City are ready to rival neighbours United for Benfica forward Nicolas Gaitan.

The Premier League leaders are reported to have tracked the Argentinian, 23, in Benfica's Portugese League Cup win over Maritimo.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, however, has been tracking Gaitan for the past few months.

However, sources claim that Benfica do not want to seel Gaitan and are braced for a battle to keep him this summer.
