Porto winger James Rodriguez is being earmarked as a replacement for Manchester United star Nani, according to The Sun.

The Red Devils are becoming increasingly frustrated by Nani’s failure to commit his future to the club, even though his current deal does not expire until the summer of 2014.

United will move for the Portuguese international if contract talks break down.

He has been offered a substantial pay rise taking his weekly wages to £130,000 a week.

But the deposed Premier League champions have already made contingency plans by lining up £20m-rated Colombian star Rodriguez.

The 20-year-old winger has impressed United’s scouts with his progress since signing from Argentinian side Club Atletico Banfield two years ago, the report added.
