Nicholas Anelka, Didier Drogba and now Wayne Rooney?

If the English Premier League fancied themselves as the moneybag league of the world – think again.

According to a report in UK’s The Express (https://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/328574/Chinese-see-Wayne-Rooney-as-next-big-signing ) Chinese clubs are eyeing Wayne Rooney and other young Premier League stars in a bid to help them conquer the football world.

After Didier Drogba and possibly Yakubu from Blackburn, China could be chasing Rooney and even Lionel Messi.

Drogba plays for Shanghai Shenhua, who are also hoping to bring in Argentinian midfield ace Giovanni Moreno.

Guangzho Evergrande have turned to Italian legend Marcello Lippi as coach.

“They are not prepared to accept Europe’s cast-offs any more. They want the likes of Rooney, Sergio Aguero and Bastien Schweinsteiger,” the report quoted Professor Simon Chadwick, head of the business strategy faculty at Coventry University as saying.
