Kaka might be headed to Old Trafford.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, the Brazilian attacking midfielder has been offered to Manchester United on a season-long loan as Real Madrid prepare for the arrival of Luka Modric.

Sir Alex Ferguson and United are extremely wary of the fact that the battle for the title may actually be fought and won in the middle of the field.

After Yaya Toure at City and Eden Hazard’s strong showing at Chelsea, United may seriously consider Kaka as a timely boost.

According to the report, Galatasaray and Kaka’s former club AC Milan are also interested in the 2007 World Player of the Year, but United will be the biggest draw for the Brazilian.

United have signed left back Alexander Buttner, 23, for £3.9million from Vitesse Arnhem.

Kaka, who has struggled with form and fitness after so many injuries, was an unused substitute on Sunday night as Real were held 1-1 by Valencia in their opening game. He has also lost his place in the Brazil squad.
