Players attack referee after red card

A Lebanese football player attacked a referee during a match in the Arab country after he was shown a red card for committing an offence.
The player was then joined by other players and trainers in chasing the frightened referee before police intervened.

A brief U-Tube film carried by local newspapers showed the referee was slapped and punched many times as he was chased by several players and trainers. A police man armed with a machine gun then intervened and stopped the attack.
