Arsenal have clinched the signing of German striker Lukas Podolski from Cologne.
Reports in the British press suggested a five-year deal of £10 million has been agreed upon.
Arsenal and Cologne were keen to finalise the deal before the European Championship started in June.
Podolski, 26, has 95 caps for his country and did not want to interrupt his preparations with the Germany squad.
His move to London was due to be confirmed this week but was put on hold as Cologne are struggling in the Bundesliga.
Arsenal's German international Per Mertesacker was instrumental in swaying Podolski's decision to move to North London and snub Manchester United.
Wenger will now seek to purchase 21-year-old France international Yann M’Vila who plays for Rennes and rated around £15m.
