Alex Song insists he is happy at Arsenal despite increasing interest from Barcelona.

Having lost Seydou Keita this summer, Barca want a new utility man who can play as a defensive midfielder or a central defender and see Song as the perfect man.

The Catalans have been linked with a £15 million move for the midfielder, just 12 months after wresting Cesc Fabregas from the Emirates.

The Cameroon international told Sky Sports: "I am not going to lie if I said there is no interest, but I am at Arsenal and I am happy at Arsenal.

"Barcelona are the best team in the world, and speculation will always continue until the window closes."

But Song’s Arsenal contract does not expire until 2015 and manager Arsene Wenger wants to keep him at the Emirates.

Wenger insisted Arsenal will not sell Song to Barcelona and was adamant the Gunners have received no approach from Barca.

He said: “There’s nothing going on with Song. There’s nothing in that.

“Song has three years contract he’s not in the same situation as Robin Van Persie.

“In Spain the newspapers are not really serious. We’ve had the experience of that.

“We’ve never had any contact with anybody from Barcelona.”
