Yousef Al Serkal, chairman of the UAE Football Association, has denied rumours that he would quit his post if he did not win the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) elections.
''The news report is absolutely baseless....... I didn't make any statement of that kind to any media outlet,'' he said.
He said that such unprofessional news would not dampen his resolve to run for the AFC's presidency.
He made it clear that he repeatedly stated that he might resign from the UAE Football Association if he won the AFC's elections.
