Young cricket fans from India had a chance of their lifetime when they met their sporting heroes on field. With IPL7 being played in the UAE, the Mumbai Indians team welcomed nine youth from their home city of Mumbai to Dubai.

The children, from Mumbai-based NGOs, were offered the chance to meet their sporting heroes, including Captain Rohit Sharma as part of the ‘Education for All’ initiative. Led by educationalist and founder of the Dhirubhai Ambani International School in India, Nita Ambani, the children were also invited to present about the NGOs to the Indian stars.

Following the once-in-a-lifetime meet and greet, the youth were invited to Dubai International Cricket Stadium to watch their favourite cricket stars take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday, who won the match by seven wickets.

Held for the first time in the region, Dubai is hosting seven of the 20 IPL matches played in the UAE. Dubai Calendar, the emirates one-stop resource for details on all events taking place in the city, is the go-to destination for all information regarding IPL.

The next Dubai IPL fixture will take place tomorrow [April 23], with Rajasthan Royals taking on Chennai Super Kings at 6.30pm GST. For more information, visit Dubai Calendar at
