Preview

Royal Challengers Bangalore probably possess the best batting line-up in the Indian Premier League (IPL), yet it is surprising to see them struggling on four points from six matches.

Another defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders today at the Chinnaswamy Stadium would mean the Virat Kohli-led side will face an uphill battle to make the top four.

With a batting line-up that boasts Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Shane Watson, one expected RCB to be ruling the IPL roost, but with four defeats they are languishing in seventh position.

Kolkata too have dropped to fourth in the standings after back-to-back defeats and will need to pull up their socks.

Despite Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa firing at the top, the Knight Riders, who began their campaign on a winning note, seem to have lost that winning touch.

Kolkata can take solace from playing at the Chinnaswamy Stadium which is their favourite hunting ground as they lifted their second IPL title at this venue.

Gambhir has been in ominous form and will be hoping his team will come out on top at the end of the day.

A cracker is certainly in the offing.
