Ahdaaf Sports Club won the first ever Chevrolet Michel Salgado 24 Hour Tournament (Chevrolet MS24H) held at the Dubai Sport City Indoor Dome on Friday.

It was the culmination of a collaboration between Chevrolet and its Regional Brand Ambassador Michel Salgado, which saw over 300 players face off on the field in a gruelling 24 hour ‘Win or Die’ challenge.

Ahdaaf Sports Club captured the Dh20,000 first-place prize.

Second and third place finishers Umai and Dnata also took home Dh10,000 and Dh5,000, respectively.

Coached by Salgado himself, participating players were split into 24 teams – featuring 14 players each – for the knockout tournament. Each 7-a-side match lasted 20 minutes.

Kevin Czerzniak from Umai was selected as the Chevrolet MS24H tournament’s Most Valuable Player, while Omar AlFahim from Ahdaaf Sports Club was chosen as the Top Goal Keeper.

In addition, both Mahdi Salem Pour from Iranian Artist Club and Farhad Majedi from Dnata earned the Top Goal Scorer honour.

As part of their winnings, all three received coveted Chevrolet prizes, including a signed Manchester United jersey and the chance to test drive the all-new 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe.

“The inaugural Chevrolet MS24H tournament proved to be an immense success, bringing together an unprecedented wealth of emerging football talent from across the UAE,” said Chevrolet Brand Manager Ahmed Soudodi.

Salgado added, “We are delighted with the outcome of this 24 hour tournament as it truly demonstrated the UAE’s football prowess. The players’ passion for the sport was absolutely palpable on the field. In line with this, I would like to, once again, congratulate the winners on their football performance.”
