Al Habtoor will challenge defending champions Al Joker in the futsal final of the 4th Nad Al Sheba (NAS) Ramadan Sports Tournament.

In the two semi-finals held at the NAS Sports Complex on Monday, Al Habtoor fought back for a 6-3 win over YLS-1, while Al Joker set their eyes on a second consecutive title with a resounding 5-0 victory over Fohood Jumeirah.

YLS-1 were off to a quick start with their Russian striker Ivan Chishkala and Brazilian Gelson Saiotti Junior scoring within two minutes for a 2-0 lead.

But Al Habtoor dug in deep with Jean Pierre Guisel alias Pito pulling a goal back in the 15th minute before fellow Brazilian Dovenir Domingues De Paiva brought the two teams on level terms at half-time.

De Paiva scored his second goal in the fourth minute of the second session, while Gelson Saiotti Junior equalised for YLS-1 within a minute.

Al Habtoor went clear again when Hamad Al Shamsi poked in from close in the 12th minute.

After that it was all one-way traffic as Al Habtoor caught their  opponents on quick counter-breaks.

First, Pito set up De Paiva’s hat-trick in the 15th minute and then scored his second goal on the night to complete the victory.

The second semi-final turned out into a lop-sided encounter with Al Joker dominating.

Marcenio Ribeiro Da Silva opened the scoring in the fourth minute while Edelson Robson Dos Santos (Robinho) doubling the lead in the 15th minute.

Miguel Sayago Marti got his name on the score-sheet in the 18th minute, while Wael Al Dhanhani came off the bench to add a fourth a minute from half-time to make it 4-0.

With Fohood Jumeirah showing signs of breaking up, Al Joker kept possession and tired their opponents further with the only goal of the period coming from Miguel Sayago Marti in the fifth minute to complete a fine win.

Held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council (DSC), this year’s three-week long sporting extravaganza is being sponsored by Land Rover, Al Tayer Motors, RTA, Emaar, Emirates Airline, Al Naboodah, Ahmed Siddiqui & Sons and Arabian Automobiles Al Rostamani Motors with a total prize fund of Dh8 million.
