Daman’s ActiveLife is launching a new monthly event named TrainZSC as part of its ‘Train’ programme, it has been announced.

TrainZSC comes as part of Daman’s 10th anniversary and its contribution to policies that focus on encouraging the UAE community to lead healthier lives and combat lifestyle diseases.

The event is the latest addition to Daman’s nationwide brand, which includes TrainYas, GoYas, iTrainSaturday, TrainDubai and TrainAlAin.

Beginning on April 28, the event will take place on the last Thursday of every month, between 6pm and 9pm at Zayed Sports City.

It marks the first time that the Zayed Sports City Stadium will open its doors to the public for a free, monthly training event.

As with other ActiveLife events, TrainZSC is organised for the community, creating a strong sense of team spirit and camaraderie.

Abu Dhabi residents will for the first time have an opportunity to engage in vertical training inside the Zayed Sports City Stadium, whereby participants can climb the stadium steps for increased cardiovascular and muscle-building exercise.

In addition, TrainZSC also provides activities that cater to all physical abilities, and makes use of Zayed Sport City’s vast space and facilities by giving participants the opportunity to walk and run around the track.

Daman will also offer free health checks and related services. The event is family-friendly, and offers a play area for children to enjoy while their parents exercise.

Dr. Michael Bitzer, Chief Executive Officer at Daman, said: “Daman is 10 years old and to mark this momentous occasion we wanted to give something back to the community. TrainZSC is a remarkable and unprecedented opportunity for residents of Abu Dhabi to get to know a National icon, the National Stadium at Zayed Sports City through a fitness initiative.”

He added: “For the first time in Abu Dhabi we will be able to go inside the stadium and create a step challenge, which is the first of its kind. We are incredibly proud to be bringing our Train brand to the main island for the first time at such a well-equipped venue.”

In an effort to create a fun atmosphere for participating individuals, this athletic challenge will take place to the sound of vibrant music, geared to motivate movement and exercise.

Participants can take on this fitness challenge as individuals or in groups, and are able to note their progress with milestones posted throughout the stadium.

Barry Bremner, General Manager, Zayed Sports City, said: “We are excited for our partnership with Daman on TrainZSC as this new programme is perfectly aligned with our mission to continually engage the greater Abu Dhabi community through health and fitness activities. Programmes such as TrainZSC make a direct impact on the health and quality of life for UAE residents and we are proud to be a central player in this movement.”

Omar Nour, the professional Egyptian triathlete and ambassador for Daman’s ActiveLife programme, said: “I am honoured to be a part of an initiative that encourages the community towards healthier, more active lifestyles. TrainZSC is a great way for people to start their weekend and end their month on the right foot.” Omar will be attending the event, along with other ambassadors for the programme.

The monthly event is also the first of ActiveLife’s Train events to be offered on Abu Dhabi island, with the most successful programmes having taken place on Yas island. TrainYas and GoYas, both weekly events taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at the Yas Marina Formula 1 track.

It is necessary to register in order to attend the event. This can be done at the venue on the day, or queues can be avoided by registering beforehand at www.trainzsc.com.
