Phoenix Medicine clinch Al Dhaid Ramadan title

Mohammad Qasim struck a brisk half century as Phoenix Medicine defeated Yogi Group by six wickets to emerge champions of the 6th Al Dhaid Ramadan Tournament at the Al Dhaid Cricket Village.

The tournament is organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council.

Needing 153 to clinch the title, Phoenix openers Rohan Mustafa and Mohammad Qasim shared a 98-run stand.

Mustafa cracked 35 off 25 balls while Qasim slammed a 44-ball 70.

Earlier winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Swapnil Salvi (23) and Salman Faris (21) lifted Yogi.

But it was Swapnil Patil’s unbeaten 54 which contained four boundaries and two sixes helped Yogi make 152 for five in 20 overs.

Mustafa claimed three wickets.

Muhammad Shahzad Manna of Yogi Group was adjudged as the player of the tournament while Salman Faris of Yogi Group and Pradeep Malik of Interface Transworld were picked as the Best Bowler and Best Batsman respectively of the tournament.
