PSL T20: Bopara stars for Karachi Kings; Peshawar Zalmi delight in Sharjah

Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi emerged victorious in front of a sell-out crowd at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Tamim remained unbeaten on 80 to steer Peshawar Zalmi to a seven-wicket win over Islamabad United in Match 13 of PSL at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Chasing a target of 153, Zalmi coasted home with nine balls to spare scoring 153.

Iqbal's 58-ball knock contained six boundaries and three sixes.

Hafeez led the charge with a fluent 25 which was studded with four boundaries and a six and also passing 4,000 runs in T20 in the process.

Peshawar are racing to victory with Tamim slamming three boundaries off Raees. Zalmi 139-3, 17 overs.

Ajmal has the last laugh by outfoxing Kamran with Haddin doing well behind the stumps. Zalmi 93-3, 12 overs.

Tamim completes a superb half century before Kamran takes on Ajmal smashing a huge six into long-off.

Islamabad innings

Islamabad United were restricted to 152-6 by Peshawar Zalmi after being put into bat despite a solid half century from Khalid Latif (59).

Watson (19) and Sharjeel (28) played fluently to give them a good start but their innings failed to gather momentum.

Skipper Misbah (32) shared in a 67-run stand with Sharjeel but United were pegged in the final overs with Asghar and Wahab claiming two wickets apiece.

Karachi Kings kept alive their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs with a convincing 27-run win over Lahore Qalandars in Sharjah on Friday.

Man of the match Ravi Bopara capped a fine all-round performance by snaring six for 16 after having made a brisk 71.

Chasing a target o 179, Qalandars stumbled despite a solid opening stand of 98 between Gayle (37) and Delport (55) to finish on 151-8.

Bopara brings up a 36-ball fifty by lofting a six off Bravo who goes for 20. Kings 165-5, 19 overs.

Delport finally hangs onto a good catch to send back Wasim. Kings 139-5, 17.1 overs.
