Seven Seas Strikers romp to victory in Sharjah Sixes

The inaugural Sharjah Sixes heading in to its first weekend had all the ingredients to make it a perfect weekend on Friday night at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Many close and one-sided matches were played.

In some of those entertaining matches, Seven Seas Strikers scored a massive 49-run victory over RSS while Radio Mirchi defeated Oxford Account Desert Cubs by a close two runs.

Seven Seas scored a massive 112 for one in the allotted five overs with W Ahmed top scoring at 35 and S Afzal supporting him with 34. W Asad chipped in with a crucial 17 as Seven Seas managed big total.

In reply, RSS were held back with some good bowling from Seven Seas as RSS could manage only 63 for two in five overs with I Ali (25) being main contributor.

In another closely contested match, Desert Cubs, chasing 64 to victory, were looking set with M Perera (25) and I Batuwitaarachi (27) sharing a fine partnership. But despite their efforts, Desert Cubs fell short by two runs with H Khizer claiming two wickets.

Batting first, Radio Mirchi were led by a fine 24 from T Farooqui as Radio Mirchi scored 63 in 5 overs.

In the other matches, Alubond Tigers defeated Radio Mirchi by four wickets; Nucaf Tellicherry beat ECB Blues by 14 runs; Al Fara’a CC got the better of Radio Mirchi by 49 runs; Team Interface thumped Cricket Maxway by four wickets; NMC Healthcare ousted Desert Kings Waterproofing by six wickets; Alubond Tigers got past UBL by 42 runs; Cost Cutter CC defeated ECB Blues by four runs.
