UAE Exchange record second win in KFC T20

UAE Exchange recorded their second victory defeating NMC Health Care by 29 runs in the KFC Emirates T20 Club Cricket League 2013 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The tournament is organised for the first time ever by the Emirates Cricket Board’s Domestic Cricket Development Committee (ECB-DCDC) and is presented by Grand Midwest Hotels.

Batting first, UAE Exchange posted a challenging 130 for six in 20 overs.

Naeem Arshad topscored with an unbeaten 48 from 45 deliveries consisting of three boundaries while Mohammad Usman and Mohammad Shahzad chipped in with useful 20 and 16 runs respectively.

For NMC Shadeep Silva and Sikander Bag claimed two wickets each.

Chasing a relatively easy target, NMC were rocked early on leaving them reeling at 25 for two before they further slipped to 52 for seven.

Only Asim Ijaz put some resistance on the top order to score 26.

It was superb bowling from Mohammad Shanyl, who bagged two wickets in his three overs and Mohammad Usman, who pocketed three wickets that rattled NMC chase.

Ali Afzal shone lower down the order to claim three wickets as NMC were bundled out for 101 in 18 overs. Sikander remained unbeaten on 27.

In another match, Yogi Group tasted their first victory in the tournament after two successive losses defeating Interface by six wickets.

Chasing 130 to win, UAE player Swapnil Patil smashed a 45-ball 52 not out with the help of three boundaries and shared a 54-run stand with Jaykishan (22, 21b, 3x4) after Yogi Group had lost two early wickets.

Jyot Chhaya smashed an unbeaten 38 from 27 deliveries including three boundaries and two sixes as Yogi Group achieved the target in 18.4 overs.

Batting first Interface made a positive start with openers Eklayva Dwivedi (24, 23b, 3x4) and Adnan Arif (39, 46b, 2x4) shared 38 runs for the first wicket. Sunny Patel bowled an impressive spell to claim three wickets to halt Interface progress but Wasim Bari smashed 21 while Mohammad Ibthisam blasted a 11-ball 29 with three sixes as Interface scored 129 for six in 20 overs.
