The 2014 Incheon Asian Games Organising Committee (IAGOC) announced that the UAE has been specially selected as one of six host countries for a promotional roadshow taking place across 2013 ahead of the Games.

In partnership with the National Olympic Committee of UAE (UAE NOC), the IAGOC will hold a road show event on June 2 to promote the 17th Asian Games taking place in Incheon, South Korea from September 19 to October 4, 2014.

“We’re excited to showcase our plan and preparation for the 2014 Incheon Asian Games in Dubai, a strategic location in the Middle East with strong interest and participation in international sports events,” said Song Young-gil, Chairman of IAGOC Executive Board and Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City.

“Following the successful first road show in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on May 6th, I believe this road show to be the significant moment for us to share the vision of Asian Games together with UAE NOC.”

“This marks an important day in the relationship between our two countries and we are proud to have been chosen to host this important event to celebrate the 17th Incheon Asian Games.  We share a healthy rivalry on the sporting fields and they have our strong collaboration to support and share the vision of the Asian Games,” said Mohammed Al Kamali, Secretary General UAE National Olympic Committee and OCA Executive Board Member.

By holding overseas promotions in six strategically important Asian countries, the IAGOC aims to achieve high level interest, participation and support in the 17th Incheon Asian Games 2014 among Asian countries under the slogan of ‘Diversity Shines Here’. This slogan represents the diverse histories, cultures, traditions and religions of Asian countries that will shine together in Incheon, set as the vision for 2014 Incheon Asian Games.

The IAGOC and the UAE NOC will also promote the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games Incheon 2013 which will be held from June 29 to July 6 as the comprehensive test prior to the 2014 Asian Games.
