Dubai Duty Free sponsors UAE 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas Trials

The UAE 1000 and 2000 Guineas represent the highlights of a valuable Dubai World Cup Carnival card sponsored by Dubai Duty Free on Thursday, January 17, 2013, according to Dubai Racing Club.

With a prize fund of $560,000, the evening’s racing features three contests on the all-weather and three on the turf at Meydan Racecourse.

The Guineas Trials, which both take place over 1,400m of the all-weather, represent the dress rehearsal for the UAE 1000 Guineas and 2000 Guineas held on February 7 and 14 respectively.

Dubai Duty Free also sponsors a race on Dubai World Cup day, the US$5 million Group 1 Dubai Duty Free, presented by Dubai Duty Free.

Commenting on its partnership with Dubai Racing Club for the Dubai World Cup Racing Carnival at Meydan Racecourse, Dubai Duty Free’s Executive Vice Chairman, Colm McLoughlin, said: “Horseracing plays an important part in Dubai Duty Free’s sponsorship portfolio and as one of the founding sponsors of Dubai World Cup, we are proud to be part of the Dubai World Cup Carnival.

“This international event taking place on January 17 proves to be a highly successful platform for the global promotion of Dubai and its world-class sporting, leisure and business facilities.

“We are also proud to be sponsoring six races on the day and we are also looking forward to some great racing on March 30, 2013 for the Dubai World Cup day where the operation is sponsoring the US$5 million Group 1 Dubai Duty Free.”
