As excitement builds towards the UAE’s most exciting weekend of tennis and with last tickets remaining for the opening day only, FLASH Entertainment announced this year’s new and improved Tennis Village at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship.

A new ‘Interactive Tennis Zone’ presented by Mubadala will ensure every visitor sees more than just a tennis tournament when they arrive at the International Tennis Complex at Zayed Sports City on Thursday.
Opening daily from midday and free to all, the area for young and old alike includes the chance to test your speed serve against the world’s best players through the latest technology, Wii tennis, face painting, Tennis History Wall, autograph booths, Batak games to test reflexes, plus mini tennis tournaments.
John Lickrish, Managing Director of tournament organisers, FLASH Entertainment explained: “Once again the arrival of the world’s leading tennis stars for the start of the global tennis in Abu Dhabi has proved hugely popular with only a very limited number of tickets still available for the opening day. Days two and three are already completely sold out, so the atmosphere inside the stadium will be electric.
“Outside the centre court, the new and improved interactive tennis zone will give every fan the chance to pick up a racquet and get involved, regardless of having a ticket for the championship. Our aim for the Mubadala World Tennis Championship is to inspire people to play more tennis, get more active and have a great time whilst they do it – and the Tennis Village will definitely encourage more people to play.”
During the tournament the players themselves will be visiting the Tennis Village to interact with the crowds and go head to head with individuals in mini tennis contests. World number one Rafael Nadal and all-time men’s Grand Slam singles titles leader, Roger Federer, are scheduled to visit the tennis village on the opening day of the tournament to sign autographs for fans. Visitors will also be able to view the practice courts as the star players warm up and hold exclusive tennis clinics for winners of the Mubadala Community Cup.
For local players wanting to learn from the best, one of the tournament’s six star players will also host an interactive clinic at 11am on Friday.
All fans are encouraged to head to the practice courts to listen to a masterclass as one of the world’s very best shares their secrets with the lucky winners of the Mubadala Community Cup.
Coaching sessions with Robin Soderling’s coach Claudio Pistolesi will take place on Day 3 for the UAE National Team, as he shares techniques in addition to his own experiences working with the World’s top players.
Frances Roig, co-coach to Rafael Nadal, will also hold sessions for local tennis coaches, giving tennis enthusiasts around the UAE the opportunity to benefit from latest training methods and techniques.
As part of the tournament’s ongoing commitment to develop the UAE’s promising young talent and educate the community on the importance of an active lifestyle, the Tennis Village will host a Diabetes Centre offering special seminars geared towards Physical Education teachers from star coach Guillaume Peyre and visiting dietician from the Imperial College of London Diabetes Centre.
