LG has just announced the launch of its first curved OLED TV even as the company is reportedly working on a smartphone with curved screen.

LG's curved TV which will be available on sale starting from the first day of Gitex will be available for Dh34,999. What's more LG is offering its latest smartphone G2 free with any purchase of its curved TV.

The TV is just 4.5mm thin and is bezel free and weighs just 17kgs. LG says its technology provides users with an IMax-type viewing experience.

LG had earlier said that its intends to be a leading player in developing devices with curved glass using liquid crystal display screens.

Meanwhile, The Wall Street journal in its latest report has said that LG will launch a smartphone with a curved screen that could be out in the market as early as next month, thereby dashing Samsung's hope to claim a similar title.

Samsung had announced last month that it too is working on a smartphone with a curved screen.

Although LG had launched the curved TV at the CES in January, it was only launched in the international market recently.

Samsung last month announced the launch of its own curved OLED TV and priced it at Dh32,999.

The Wall Street Journal quoting sources from within the company said its announcement of the smartphone with a curved glass could come soon and the phone has been dubbed the G Flex.

The media report also said that the phone will have a six-inch screen that incorporates organic light-emitting-diode technology.
