'Dhoom 3' trailer: Aamir Khan, Katrina fail to impress

The first teaser of Yash Raj Films’ action flick 'Dhoom 3' starring Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif is out but the much awaited teaser doesn't satisfy our action hungry palate.

And here's why:

- Aamir Khan is neither Hrithik Roshan (from Dhoom 2) nor John Abraham (Dhoom). This franchise is not just about acting - the sleek action, the sauve conman, the dangerously handsome villian makes it worth a watch.

- The begining recital gave me a sense of déjà vu, as if the voice-over is a piece from 'Rang De Basanti' or 'Mangal Pandey'. Well, it's not exactly a drawback but this déjà vu just killed the freshness I was looking foward to.

- The action seems very repetitive and not at all jaw dropping, even the skiding bike beneath the truck didn't excite me.

- Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra take themselves too seriously (even in a trailer!). And it was about time to replace that bandana Uday Chopra is wearing for the past nine years.

- Katrina Kaif reminds me of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan  (Dhoom 2). Looks like the actress borrowed Ash’s stylist and hairdresser from the last movie. Considering the minuscule appearance in the teaser, wonder if the femme fatale will attempt to even act in this movie.

Well, this is just a small trailer and we are keeping our fingers crossed for a better, longer version.

About the movie:

'Dhoom 3' is definitely one of the most hotly anticipated films, thanks to the success of the previous two and the fact that Aamir Khan has been signed on for this third edition.

The film is scheduled for a Christmas release, an auspicious time for Aamir's films, and the poster's tag line proclaims: "This year will end with a Dhoom".

The 48-year-old is playing an antagonist in 'Dhoom 3', the third installment in the franchise that started in 2004 with John Abraham playing the villain. Hrithik Roshan played the negative role in 'Dhoom 2'.

It is reportedly said that Aamir has used a lot of acrobatic skills to pull off heists in the Vijay Krishna Acharya directed action thriller that also features Katrina Kaif as his love interest.

Abhishek Bachchan once again returns to play a cop, chasing the super villain with Uday Chopra as his sidekick.
