Jolie: I want people to be very uncomfortable

A film about the war in the Balkans entitled "In the Land of Blood and Honey" directed by Angelina Jolie was made to "upset and make people very uncomfortable," the Hollywood actress and director said in Germany on Monday.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 62nd Berlinale film festival where Jolie was to show her directing debut, she told reporters: "I want people to see this film and be very uncomfortable when they watch it. They should be upset and they should want some intervention. They should want it to stop and they should be angry," Jolie said.

"In The Land of Blood and Honey" is Jolie's debut as a feature film director.

A love story between a Serbian man and a Bosnian-Muslim woman, forced apart in the 1992 Bosnian conflicts, many people in Sarajevo have found it difficult to watch.

Jolie had given the Bosnian capital an exclusive week-long screening of the film before it officially hit theatres in the region in February.
