Video: Child jumps to death to escape fire in Egypt

An 11-year-old Egyptian girl was caught on camera jumping down to death from her fourth floor apartment in Cairo to escape fire.

A YouTube film published in Kuwait’s daily Alanba showed the girl stood at the window of the blazing flat for a few seconds before leaping down.

Fire fighters battling the blaze managed to rescue the girl’s mother and her baby and both were admitted to the intensive care unit after suffering from suffocation.

“The girl panicked after the blaze and smoke engulfed the flat…she ran to the window, waited for a while and jumped down,” the paper said.
