King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia took time out of monotonous royal protocol commitments and joked with his former teacher, triggering laughter by the Islamic scholar and other guests who came to greet him at his palace.
The Monarch, close to 90 years old, appeared in a good mood as he sat in his chair joking and laughing ahead of his next week’s planned back surgery.
A brief U-Tube film, carried by Saudi newspapers, showed the King chatting with his teacher before he joked with him and sparked roaring laughter by the guests.
“Do you still remember when you gave me a good smack,” the King said to his former teacher, who wore a turban and a traditional Islamic gown.
Alsaudi newspaper, which carried the film, said the embarrassed teacher responded jokingly:”They way if you hit a one you love, it’s like giving him sweets.”
