'The Dark Knight Rises' as Batman returns

The film is the final part in the Batman trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan ( Memento, Inception), starring Christian Bale in the lead role.
 
Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are newcomers, while Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine make a return. 

The film trailer has been showing in US IMAX cinemas before screenings of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Bale, who first started portraying the character in the 2005 film Batman Begins, has hinted that he will not be reprising his role as the caped crusader in future films.

The Dark Knight Rises is set eight years after the last movie and is due for release next year.
