Man burns son's foot for 'treatment'

A Saudi man triggered public anger after appearing in a YouTube film burning his little’s son foot with a hot rod.

He said later he was treating, not torturing, the child.

The film, published in the Saudi daily Ajel, showed the father heating a rod on fire before he applied it on the boy’s foot as he screamed in pain.
The father, who was helped by two relatives, shot another film later slamming those who criticised him for such an act.

“I tell those who prayed to God against me that they are wrong. I was not torturing my son but treating his foot. This is a known treatment method used by the Bedouins,” he said without mentioning what his son was suffering from.
