Video: 'Strip protest' for Saudi traffic police

A Saudi man stood in the middle of a busy street near a traffic police department in the Gulf Kingdom and stripped off most of his clothes to protest against a ticket issued by a police patrol for transporting passengers in his private car.

A YouTube film published by ‘Sada’ newspaper showed the man standing in his underwear surrounded by car as he was filmed by another man in a car.

“We issued a ticket because he was found to be transporting passengers in his private car in violation of the country’s rules,” the paper said, quoting colonel Fawzi Al Ansari, police spokesman in the Western town of Makkah.

He did not make clear if police would also take measures against the man for stripping off in the middle of the day.
