11.92m travellers through Abu Dhabi Airport in H1

The Abu Dhabi International Airport has maintained its strong growth curve, welcoming a total of 11.92 million travellers during the first half of 2017, up 0.7 percent from 11.84 million in the corresponding period in 2016, with a total of 1.76 million passing through the airport during June.

Ahmed Al Shamsi, Acting Chief Operations Officer at Abu Dhabi International Airport, has stated that London, Bombay, Delhi and Manila are the top destinations for travellers through the airport in June, with the air traffic to London increasing 6 percent, and Delhi-bound travellers up by 11 percent against the same month last year.

He added that Abu Dhabi International Airport terminals welcomed 75.3 percent of the total number of passengers in June, 81 percent of whom were aboard Etihad Airways.
