There's a new war brewing. And for a change, Apple may not be in it.

A new Phablet phone codenamed T6 will take up the Note 3. while the Taiwanese giant is also working on another device called the M4 as a rival to the Galaxy S4 mini.

The Taiwan vs South Korea race is indeed heating up. Just a week after Samsung sent out invites for a June 20 event, where it is expected to announce its new Note 3 with more steel in its body, it is now emerging that HTC is working on a similar device.

According to the latest leaks, the company is working on a new device a 5.9 inch HTC T6. The phone or phablet will also come with a Samsung Note type stylus.

According to a report by Pocket-lint, the new phablet phone will come with the yet to release Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and a powerful 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and full HD display. The camera will be similar to the HTC One. The device will also come with a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone.

In comparison Samsung’s Note 3 which is expected to be announced on June 20 is expected to come with a 6” Full HD AMOLED display, Exynos 5 Octa processor, and a 13 megapixel camera and Android 5.0.

With the success of HTC One the Taiwan based company is not willing to lose out momentum and plans to take on its South Korean rival on several fronts.

The M4 which will rival the S4 mini will be similar to HTC One but with a slightly downgraded specifications. The M4 will come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and will retain the similar design of HTC One but will have a dual core CPU, 2 GB RAM and 16GB storage. The camera will be similar to that of the HTC One. Evleaks even tweeted a picture of what an M4 could look like.

Meanwhile there are also reports that HTC is planning to come out with a blue and red variants of its popular HTC One model.
