As part of its on-going work to better understand the views of business consumers of telecommunications services in the UAE, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), supported by Nielsen, a global information and measurement company, is about to conduct a survey of around 1,500 businesses.
The fieldwork, to be conducted by Nielsen, commenced on 29 September 2013 and will involve face-to-face interviews with businesses consumers. Interviews will be held in all emirates.
Commenting on the survey, HE Mohamed Al Ghanim, Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, said: “This survey is a key part of the TRA’s on-going effort to monitor the UAE’s ICT environment. Assessing the extent to which services provided by Etisalat and du sufficiently meet both the needs and expectations of UAE businesses is focus of this research.
“The TRA urges all of the selected businesses to fully participate in the survey and give honest feedback. The information provided by those interviewed will show the extent to which the UAE telecommunications sector working collectively and will in turn, assist the TRA in achieving an optimal enabling environment that can compete in the global market place”.
Both the TRA and Nielsen have issued a message of thanks and appreciation in advance for the support of the businesses selected to participate in the survey. The survey includes a range of questions designed to retrieve industry specific feedback and measure the current sentiment of - UAE business sector. From pricing structures to the range and quality of services provided, the report seeks to generate a realistic image of how well demand in the ICT is being met.
