Gitex Shopper: iPhone 6s for Dh172…

The last day of Gitex Shopper Autumn is promising to be as advertised… crowds at Dubai World Trade Centre have surged this morning, with hordes of shoppers braving humidity, traffic and parking woes to land the juiciest of deals.

In addition, several hundred shoppers landed for the midnight launch of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus this morning, with retailers as well as select business centres of telecom operators doing brisk business post-midnight.

du is offering the 16GB iPhone 6s starting Dh300 per month, and this includes 11GB data and 300 flexible minutes.

Etisalat, on the other hand, is offering the 16GB iPhone 6s for Dh265 per month, and this includes 5GB data and 500 local minutes.

The retailers, however, are offering the most affordable deals, with Sharaf DG offering the 16GB iPhone 6s for as little as Dh172 per month, with the promise to upgrade to a new iPhone after 12 months.

Globally, Apple’s retail stores in the US offer qualified customers a choice of unlocked iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus with the opportunity to get a new iPhone annually and AppleCare+ as part of the new iPhone Upgrade Program with monthly payments starting at $32 (Dh118) and $37 (Dh136), respectively.

UAE telecom operators are offering the new iPhones on 24-month leases.

Customers will be able to lease the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s from Etisalat on monthly rentals of Dh265 (6GB), Dh400 (64GB) and Dh650 (128GB).

The 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus, on the other hand, will be available at Dh290 (16GB), Dh425 (64GB) and Dh675 (128GB) monthly.
