For those unable to get hold of an iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus at the original retail prices, there is hope today as all major retailers are expecting the arrival of fresh stocks.

Some devices were available on Monday - but at a premium of almost Dh400 to Dh700.

An etisalat staffer at the Shopper told Emirates 24|7 that the interest for the iPhone package is what is driving sales this year.

“Almost everyone wants the iPhone 6. We are signing up at least 10 to 20 new orders every hour,” he said.

Laptop prices to fall further

Expect laptop prices to fall further. Currently, Lenovo and Dell are fighting hard for supremacy with attractive bundle offers.

Lenovo is showcasing its new entrant the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro that comes with a 13.3-inch display, QHD+ super high resolution display at 3200X1800 resolution and weighs 1.39kg.

The Intel 4th generation Core i7 device is priced at Dh6,499 and according to the company is selling faster than the i5 version which is priced at Dh5,499.

Lenovo is also offering customers of its 2 pro a chance to win a Ford Mustang.

Dell on the other hand is focusing on the Inspiron 14, 15 and 17 5000 Series laptops.

The company is also focusing on its Venue range of 8 and 11inch Windows-based tablets and 7 and 8 inch Android tablets.

Prices on older laptop models are dropping by the day. You can get an i5 for Dh2,300 and i7 devices starting at Dh4,000.

Shopper deals, off-site

There are at least two major bundle offers that are only available at retail stores in Dubai, but not at Gitex.

One of them is at Emax on the Xbox 360 where you can get the device for free.

A 250 GB Xbox 360 bundled with Forza and Borderkands is priced at Dh1,299 and you get a return air ticket from Emax valued at almost Dh1,500.

With Nikon when you buy SLR cameras such as a D610 which is priced at Dh6,999, a D750 priced at Dh8,999, a D810 priced at Dh10,999 or a D4S for Dh23,999, you get a 50 per cent discount on full frame lenses.

This means that a 400mm Lens originally priced at Dh34,000 can be purchased for just Dh17,000.

A similar deal applies on a 600mm lens that is originally priced at Dh41,000 and an 800mm lens that is priced at Dh75,000.

Again this offer can be availed only at Grand Stores outside the Shopper.

Narendra Menon, Regional Head Sales & Marketing at Nikon, says, “We have had pretty decent sales so far this Gitex and already achieved an eight per cent increase in daily targets, compared to last year.”
