Wonder how hackers break through the most protected of systems? Well, it isn't through any magical technical exploit, rather by guessing the password.

And what if the most common password is but 'Password1'? A latest study released by Trustwave called '2012 Global Security Report', says about five per cent of passwords involve a variation of the word 'password', while 'welcome', took more than one per cent, reported 'Yahoo!7'.

The reason why Password1 is the favourite of techies is because it's fulfils the complex rules for many systems, including the default settings for Microsoft's Active Directory Identity Management Software. It has a capital letter, a numerical, and nine characters.

Trustwave conducted a penetration test and used an assortment of widely available password-cracking tools on 2.5 million passwords and successfully broke more than 200,000 of them.

Similarly, Verizon in its yet-to-be-released report says guessable and weak passwords are easily exploited.
