Canadian wins $1m in Dubai; Pakistani is ‘surprise’ winner

Mojtaba Gharehbaghi, a Canadian national won the jackpot when his ticket was drawn from series 214 of the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw.

Mojtaba, a Dubai resident was lost for words when told that his ticket no. 4756 was drawn. The draw for $1million took place yesterday morning in Concourse D, Dubai International Airport.  

The 32-year-old Mojtaba said he couldn’t believe it finally happened and asked “Is this for real?”

After 5 years of trying, Mojtaba, who is a partner in a business finally got the call he was waiting for and couldn’t contain his excitement when informed that he had won the much sought-after prize of $1Million.

Following the Millennium Millionaire draw, Dubai Duty Free conducted the Finest Surprise draw announcing the winner of a luxury motorcycle.

The lucky winner of the Deep Black Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle was Mohammad Yousaf.

Mohammad, a Pakistani national living in Dubai was unable to be reached but will no doubt be excited to learn that his ticket no. 0907 was drawn from series 278 of the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Draw.
