Al Maya Group to expand supermarkets network in GCC

Dubai-based Al Maya Group said it would open more supermarkets across the Gulf region in coming quarters.

“We are planning to open more supermarkets in the GCC to have greater retail penetrations in the market,” Kamal Vachani, Group Director, Al Maya Group, said.

Al Maya Group has over 40 supermarkets and hypermarkets in the UAE and GCC countries and has very strong presence in the retail sector in the UAE.

Al Maya Group announced that it has been awarded the “Award of Excellence” for excellent business partnership by Sun Mark Limited, UK.  

The award was presented by Ian Gibbons MBE, Deputy Consul General & Director of UK Trade & Investment, British Embassy, Dubai, to Kamal Vachani, Group Director, Al Maya Group. 

“We are indeed honoured to have been awarded ‘Award of Excellence’ which was presented to us by Mr Ian Gibbons… We will make all efforts to boost business relationship with British companies,” said Vachani.

Al Maya enjoys excellent relations with British companies and are already importing large amount of food products from a large number of companies from UK, he added.
