It’s a season for special fares, with several airlines offering discounted fares to UAE passengers in a bid to boost seat capacity during the rare lull period. A number of airlines including Emirates, Turkish Airlines and Air Arabia are offering limited-period bargain airfares for those willing to book and fly within a restricted period. 

Turkish Airlines has introduced a special all-inclusive fare of Dh999 to Istanbul from the UAE. The price includes all taxes, which makes the deal even sweeter.

The special price tickets can be bought until April 16 of next month and passengers will need to fly between May 1 and June 15, the airline has announced.

Emirates Airlines too has launched special fares to 23 destinations across Africa in business and economy class. Customers need to book by March 31, for travel between April 15 and June 15, 2014.

Under the special price scheme, you can fly to Addis Ababa for Dh1,535; to Khartoum for Dh1,575; to Nairobi Dh1,865; to Casablanca for Dh3,095; to Seychelles for Dh3,435; to Johannesburg for Dh3,805; to Mauritius for Dh4,595; to Cape Town for Dh4,995.

The prices quoted are for economy class but there are also special fares in business class that also be availed.

Emirates 24|7 reported yesterday that Air Arabia is also offering low-priced tickets to some of its select destinations, with today being the last day of the promotion period in which to book tickets.

The budget airline introduced its lowest fare (Dh399) are for cities like Dammam, Hofuf and Muscat followed by Dh499 for destinations like Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait and Salalah.

Under the scheme passengers can fly to Riyadh and Yanbu for Dh599; to Gassim for Dh666; to Taif for Dh777; to Hail for Dh799; to Abha for Dh849; to Beirut and Amman for Dh888; to Jeddah and Medinah for Dh 899 and to Alexanndria, Istanbul and Nairobi for Dh999.

Even though the special promotions do not extend until the school summer holidays, when the big travel rush happens, residents can still take advantage of these fares during the spring term break, when many travel out of the UAE on short breaks.
