Dubai: His Excellency Dr Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC, affirmed that the United Arab Emirates has taken a "sovereign decision" to withdraw from OPEC and OPEC+ as part of its long‑term energy sector strategy, in line with its actual production capabilities, in a manner that strengthens national interests and contributes to supporting the stability of global energy markets.
In a post on the platform “X,” His Excellency explained that this approach reflects the UAE’s vision of managing the energy sector in a "balanced and responsible manner", taking into account the growing needs of global markets, while ensuring resource sustainability and enhancing production efficiency.
He noted that ADNOC continues to play its role as a reliable and responsible supplier to global markets by meeting rising demand for energy across its various forms, including oil, gas, chemicals, low‑carbon energy, and renewable energy, reflecting the diversity of its portfolio and its future‑oriented strategy.
He stressed that ADNOC’s commitment to its partners around the world remains firm and unwavering, pointing out that the company continues to strengthen its operational and expansion capabilities to achieve further progress in the global energy sector.
He added that the principles of trust, partnership, and credibility are core pillars of ADNOC’s approach, not mere slogans, but a practical reality supported by a long track record of honoring agreements and promoting stability in energy markets.
