Dubai: Dubai International Airport is preparing for the peak summer travel season, with nearly 3 million passengers expected to pass through its terminals during the first half of July. The peak period begins with a significant rise in departures starting 2 July, as residents head off on their summer holidays, according to Dubai Media Office.

12 July is expected to be the busiest day, with more than 225,000 passengers, while daily traffic is projected to exceed 200,000 over the following two weeks. Transit passengers are expected to account for approximately 50% of the total, reflecting Dubai’s position as one of the world’s most connected aviation hubs.

Dubai at Heart

Dubai Airports is transforming the peak summer travel season into a more human-centred experience for travellers. Departing and transit passengers at Concourse B in Terminal 3 (next to Gates B28) can participate in the interactive “Dubai at Heart” experience, allowing them to become part of a collective mosaic that reflects Dubai’s diverse community and global presence.

By uploading a selfie, each guest’s image is added to a growing digital mosaic in the colours of the UAE flag. This mosaic expands with each passenger passing through Dubai International Airport, bringing together individual moments into a single image that captures the spirit of Dubai.

The experience also includes a dedicated space for handwritten messages, where guests can share words of pride, gratitude and belonging, adding a personal touch to the initiative. In addition, the experience extends to rewards that guests can redeem at participating airport shops, including souvenirs and exclusive offers.

Advice

Passengers travelling with Emirates can benefit from the convenience of checking in from home, within the city, or at self-service kiosks. Travellers are advised to arrive at the airport no more than three hours before departure and to use online check-in where available.

Families with children aged over 12 years can use smart gates for faster passport control. Passengers are also advised to check the latest travel requirements for their destinations and ensure all necessary documents are prepared in advance. Spare batteries and power banks must be carried in hand luggage only.
