Dubai Chamber showcases DP World’s cargo war risk insurance to strengthen trade resilience
Export Majlis highlights end-to-end coverage solution supporting businesses across Middle East trade corridors

Dubai: Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, hosted a special Export Majlis event in collaboration with DP World and Dubai Customs. The session introduced manufacturing companies, logistics providers, and exporters to DP World’s newly launched Cargo War Risk Insurance programme, designed to help businesses navigate disruptions affecting trade routes across the Middle East.
The event attracted 267 participants and featured detailed presentations on the programme’s key benefits. The solution offers comprehensive, end-to-end coverage across ocean and air freight, port storage, and inland delivery — addressing critical gaps in conventional insurance policies, which typically cover only a single stage of the supply chain.
H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, said: “We are committed to supporting the private sector’s ability to respond to an evolving global trade environment, while raising awareness of innovative solutions and specialised services that enhance operational resilience and business continuity. Through this event, we aim to connect companies across the manufacturing, trade, and logistics sectors with practical solutions that strengthen supply chain continuity and reduce exposure to risks linked to international trade. In doing so, we are reinforcing Dubai’s competitiveness as a global hub for trade and logistics.”
Yuvraj Narayan, Group Chief Executive Officer of DP World, said: “In today’s increasingly complex trade environment, supply chain resilience is more critical than ever. DP World’s Cargo War Risk Insurance programme reflects our commitment to delivering practical solutions that safeguard cargo movements and ensure trade continuity across key regional corridors. By combining our integrated logistics capabilities with specialised risk coverage, we are enabling businesses to navigate disruption with greater confidence and certainty.”
During the Export Majlis, DP World explained that the Cargo War Risk Insurance programme covers physical loss or damage caused by war-related risks, helping businesses maintain operational continuity across regional trade routes. Leveraging DP World’s integrated logistics network, the programme is tailored to support cargo movement through complex and high-risk environments.
The programme is available to companies trading within or through the Middle East. It supports supply chain continuity across major trade corridors — including the Arabian Gulf, the Red Sea, and surrounding inland routes — by addressing risks not fully covered under traditional insurance frameworks.
Dubai Customs also highlighted its role in enhancing business continuity and operational efficiency through strategic initiatives. These include developing regulatory frameworks for alternative shipping routes, extending transit periods, and strengthening coordination with stakeholders to ensure faster response times and improved trade flow efficiency.
