Dubai: Dubai continues to reinforce its position as a leading global destination for luxury real estate and experiential tourism, supported by the launch of high-quality developments and innovative events that reflect its cultural diversity and global appeal.

In this context, the “Heart of Europe” project at The World Islands is set to host the “Portofino Festival” from 5 to 27 June 2026. The event will offer an immersive entertainment and tourism experience inspired by Italian culture, featuring culinary showcases, live music and cultural performances across three hotels within the development.

The festival forms part of a broader shift towards experiential tourism in the UAE, with projects increasingly combining luxury hospitality and interactive leisure experiences. This comes as demand for domestic holidays continues to grow strongly within the local market.

This trend highlights the rapid transformation of Dubai’s tourism sector, which has expanded beyond traditional hotel stays to focus on curated, immersive experiences tailored to families and residents seeking alternatives to travelling abroad.

Joseph Kleindienst, Founder of the Kleindienst Group, said the project represents a model for integrated destinations designed to connect cultures and deliver world-class living experiences within the UAE. He noted that Dubai provides an ideal environment for such developments, supported by its cultural diversity and advanced tourism infrastructure.

The “Heart of Europe” reflects this approach by incorporating entertainment and cultural elements inspired by European destinations such as Portofino, alongside premium hospitality, dining experiences and live performances. The development aims to redefine the concept of luxury holidays within the country.

The initiative comes amid rising demand for local travel experiences, as many residents opt for integrated, high-quality destinations within the UAE rather than travelling abroad during peak seasons.

The Portofino Festival is part of a wider calendar of lifestyle events planned for the destination in the coming months. The project also features a range of innovative attractions, including Rain Street, the upcoming Snow Plaza, and floating homes with underwater bedrooms.

Its master plan also prioritises environmental preservation through initiatives such as the Coral Institute, while sustainability remains a core focus, with solar-powered operations integrated across the development.

Dubai continues to strengthen its global standing not only as a hub for luxury real estate investment, but also as a centre for innovative hospitality experiences that combine entertainment, culture and modern lifestyle.
