Dubai signs e-commerce MoU with 3 chambers

As part of efforts to strengthen its strategic partnership with UAE Chambers of Commerce and to promote e-Commerce in the country, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah chambers.

The MoU will allow these entities to join with Dubai Chamber’s initiative using the online portal, alibaba.com, aimed at increasing business prospects for members.

The benefits enjoyed by Dubai Chamber members will now be extended to the other participating UAE Chambers’ members, including access to the knowledge centre and e-Commerce Mena region club, training and awareness sessions on e-Commerce organised by Dubai Chamber and alibaba.com

They will be entitled to free customer service and International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) services through the e-Commerce Mena region club and will also be allotted Certificate of Verified Membership, and 50 per cent subsidy on the fees for joining the Trusted Membership.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Hamad Buamim, President and CEO, Dubai Chamber, Khalid Mohammed Al Jassim, Director-General, Fujairah Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Mohammed Hassan Tunaiji, Acting Director-General, Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Abdullah Omar Al Marzouki, Executive Director, Membership Registration and Transactions Services, Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Welcoming the Chamber heads at the signing ceremony, Hamad Buamim stated that the concept of trading online has led to a new era in global trade and those adopting this portal will benefit immensely in the long run.
