The former CEO of Nakheel is seeking $3.7 million (Dh13.5 million) in unpaid dues from the property developer, court documents show.

Chris O’Donnell, who headed the company for five years, filed a lawsuit at the Dubai World Tribunal on June 22.

According to the documents, O’Donnell is claiming $3 million in long-term incentive payment, which was part of his employment contract. He is also seeking $180,000 in interest payments, $290,850 for damages related to exchange rate losses between the dirham and the Australian dollar and $231,414 in additional dues.

Besides, the former CEO is also seeking a business-class airline ticket from Dubai to Australia as part of his legal claim.

Last week, the master developer signed agreements on its operational and financial separation from Dubai World and is now wholly owned by the Dubai government.
