The Japanese carmaker Nissan has recalled its salon car Altima in the UAE due to manufacturing defect in the secondary hood lock.

The company is recalling vehicles manufactured between 2013 and 2015 and imported into the United Arab Emirates.

“As an isolated manufacturing issue, the secondary hood lock on the potentially affected vehicles may not function properly, caused by mechanical binding. Nissan will replace the lock assembly at no cost to the customers.

“The decision has been taken jointly with Nissan Middle East FZE and the Ministry of Economy – Consumer Protection Department – to launch a recall campaign to carry out the repair on the affected vehicles which are imported in UAE,” the company said.

Customers who own 2013 to 2015 Altima should approach carmaker’s authorised distributors in the UAE – Arabian Automobiles and Al Masaood Automobiles – to have their vehicles repaired.
