The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has recently launched the Palestine Business Council for Dubai and Northern Emirates which is in line with the long felt need for boosting economic cooperation and enhancement of trade and commerce between the business communities of Dubai and Palestine.

The newly-formed Palestine Business Council which brings the number of councils operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chamber to 43 has 28 companies, co-owned and operated in Dubai by Palestinian businessmen from general trading, industry, engineering, construction, banking services and many more.

Mahdi Al Mazim, Director, Members Services, Dubai Chamber, stated that the Palestine Business Council’s joining of the long list of business councils functioning under the aegis of the Chamber is a step in the right direction as this will help strengthen bilateral ties between the two sides.

Al Mazim highlighted Dubai Chamber’s role in facilitating all business activities under its strategic objectives of creating a favourable business environment and promoting Dubai as an international business hub. He also stressed on the Chamber’s commitment to provide all the facilities to support the development of business and to create a lucrative business environment for foreign direct investment in the emirate.

Highlighting the important role played by the various business groups and business councils, Al Mazim informed that these entities directly support the trade sector, which is one of the leading drivers of the emirate’s economic engine as they also contribute to promoting the competitiveness of Dubai’s business community in the local, regional and international markets.

On his part, Samir Ibrahim Abdul-Hadi, Chairman of the Palestine Business Council, stressed that the idea behind the establishment of the Council was to support investors from both the sides as well as to encourage and consolidate two-way trade flow between them.

The newly-elected Chairman of the Palestine Business Council took the opportunity to laud the role of Dubai Chamber for the non-profit organisation’s support and cooperation in establishing the Council and for rendering all help to the Palestinian business community in reaching out to the world via trade through Dubai.
