The figures by the Ras al Khaimah Department of Economic Development showed the Emirate's gross domestic product reached Dh17.5 billion in 2009, an increase of eight per cent over 2008.

The Department, releasing its 2009 report on the local economy, estimated domestic investments by the public and private sector (gross fixed capital formation) at nearly Dh7 billion in 2009.
