Customers of HSBC bank complained about being unable to use their cards on Saturday morning.

Many took to social media platform Twitter to record their reaction.

“Can you please explain what happened (regarding) the network error yesterday? It was most annoying,” tweeted a customer.

“Some information on current lack of access to our accounts would be appreciated! Your branch staff are clueless,” tweeted another.

The bank responded, through its official Twitter handle, and confirmed there was a glitch.

“Dear Customers, a technical issue led to a short service disruption on Saturday (December 7),” posted @HSBC_UAE_Help.

“Our apologies for any inconvenience that you may have experienced. We would like to inform you that the issue has been resolved.”

Many customers requested that they be informed of such issues in the future.

“Any chance you can inform your customers by mail/SMS when it occurs?” tweeted a customer.

Another added, “Thanks for letting your customers know that your card services were down today..,NOT! #badservice #UAE.”

The bank’s UAE twitter handle - @HSBC_UAE_Help - was officially launched in December. The profile reads, “Official page for HSBC UAE customer service. We will respond to all genuine banking queries between 9am - 5pm, Sun to Thurs. Do not share any personal details.”
