Adnoc to open in Dubai

Adnoc Distribution, the retail arm of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), has announced it is currenly searching for 10 locations to open petrol stations in Dubai.

The move will be carried out under the supervision and follow-up of the Supreme Energy Council in Dubai.

Abdullah Salem Al Daheri, Adnoc Director General, said scouting the location is the first phase of Adnoc’s expansion plan. In the second phase, the company will put togther a strategic plan to address the emirate’s needs as well as extending its services.

The company stressed its expansion comes within the framework of its strategy to achieve the Emirates vision 2021 as well as its plans to push ahead with economic development.

The company said the move is as part of a joint work to enhance the strategic partnership between the Supreme Energy Council and Adnoc.

“Our strategic partnership with the council reflects the spirit of cooperation between both entities and recognize the prestigious status of Adnoc service outlets, a fact that is clearly demonstrated by the growing demand for Adnoc stations due to its outstanding services and high quality products provided to its customers” said Al Daheri.

He added that the expansion would also help the company’s plan to increase its work force of Nationals, by recruiting qualified technical and administrative staff.

Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer, Deputy Chairman of the Dubai council, lauded Adnoc’s contributions to the local market due to its leading position as one of the leading retail oil chains.

He said he hopes expansion would lead to further cooperation between the council and Adnoc as well as support Dubai’s strategic goals for its integrated energy plan 2030.

Al Tayer pointed out that the partnership with Adnoc would support the council’s mission, which is aimed to boost economic growth in Dubai by securing and providing enough energy supplies and ensure their sustainability.

He emphasised the council’s keenness to expand its scope of strategic cooperation with various national agencies and looks forward towards new prospects that allow further opportunities, including attracting foreign investments.

Adnoc will be the third petrol retailer to operate in Dubai, along with Emarat and Enoc.
